Feature Spotlight Scrub Notifications
Many affiliates like to think that they have a spectacular relationship with their affiliate networks, and in many cases this may be true.
There is, however, a darker side to a small number of networks, and one of the tricks they can pull is to illegitimately scrub commissions from their affiliates without notifying them – something that can easily turn an affiliates profitable campaigns into a smouldering pile of negative ROI.
So, how do you know if this is happening to you?
Well, you could export an excel file every minute of every day and compare your earnings to the previous minute. Or, you could employ a monkey to stare at your commission reports whilst hitting F5 (or command-R for Mac users), and banging a drum every time your commissions go DOWN for a few minutes.
Or, a more sensible approach might be to use the new Clickthroo scrub notifications feature (where there isn’t a monkey in sight).
So, how does that help me then?
Well, this is very straight-forward actually. We continuously ping your network commissions in order to detect a commission reduction. At this point, we add a very fancy little notification within your Clickthroo interface and optionally ping you an email to tell you how many leads were removed and the time it happened.
This then give you ammunition to approach your network to see what the reason for the commission scrub was. It could be perfectly legitimate, but if not, we envisage that this feature will pay for your Clickthroo subscription alone.
Happy earning!
