January Features & Improvements Update
This January we have been working our socks off to introduce a number of new features to our Clickthroo app as well as improving on the existing ones.
Things just get more and more exciting as some new additions include a move to Rackspace Cloud to improve the performance of the app, a huge amount of new landing page templates to use (including mobile landing pages!), an improved Text Editor, along with progress in so many other areas.
Let’s look in more detail about these latest updates:
The Rackspace Cloud Hosting Server Migration
This change is a biggie, with a move on to Rackspace Cloud Hosting that has enabled us to increase the performance levels of Clickthroo.
The last thing that any user wants is a slow experience when using online applications and serving landing pages, and moving to the Rackspace Cloud allows us to provide a high-performing piece of kit. It makes the application much more robust and reliable too, as they have strong processes in place to battle any issues including fanatical support.
This move also helps us with developing, testing, and launching new features on to the app as the backend system has seen a boost in performance. Now there is huge potential for scalability of Clickthroo and you will see new features and updates coming on thicker and faster!
Over 50+ New Landing Page Templates
We have been busy integrating some new landing page templates and have now reached over 50 templates for your use, which have all been built in line with conversion optimization best practice.
You will find Lead Generation templates, Click Through templates, Email List Builder templates, Viral Social Media Contest templates in a range of themes and page sizes. We also have templates that include the ability to integrate videos into the page. Whichever type of online marketing campaign you are running there will be a template suitable in Clickthroo.
We are particularly proud to offer Mobile-Optimized landing page templates for your use. Mobile Landing Pages have a different set of ‘rules’ and best practices as desktop ones because users behave differently on mobile devices and have separate requirements. Try them out and keep an eye out for new ones that we will be adding on over the next few weeks.
Brand New Text Editor
One aspect of the Editor that we have been desperate to improve upon is the Text Editor, and we have now managed to do so.
It is much more responsive and intuitive than before and comes with added features such as indentation, an increased number of styles and fonts, and a line height adjusting tool.
You can also include Dynamic Tags in your text including keywords, referring URL, the date, a countdown timer, and geographic data – personalization can have a huge impact on a landing page’s performance!
Expanded Reporting
We understand the extreme importance of Reporting when involved in affiliate marketing. Our reporting suite has got more extensive with a number of new filters that have been included.
You can now report by by Device (e.g. iPad, Desktop), Operating System (e.g. Windows, Android), and Browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox). Its important to recognise the performance of your campaigns in these different areas because users behave differently on particular devices, browsers, and operating systems.
Include Custom Parameters with URLs
Following on from the new reporting features above, you can now include Custom Parameters with your URLs, which can be found in the ‘Traffic Sources’ section of the campaign wizard.
This allows you to track even more about individual aspects as you will be able to capture data such as the keywords used, page referral URL, match types for paid search, just to name a few examples.
You can track the success of your media buys when you have banners and other media types on a web page by including custom parameters with the URLs.
More Integrated Traffic Sources
There is now an expanded list of Traffic Sources that can be tracked and assigned their own value. You can now track such traffic sources as Google AdWords, Trafficvance, SiteScout, LinkedIn Ads, and Direct CPV to name a few. We are working on integrating even more and the list should keep growing.
There is also the option to add your own Custom Traffic Sources, which can be particularly useful if you want to track media buys on specific web pages for example.
New Networks
The list of new Affiliate Networks being integrated into Clickthroo has also expanded and continues to do so. Recent additions include Ads4Dough, Rextopia, Thinkaction, and The Affiliati Network. There will be plenty more coming on over the next month so keep a watchful eye out.
Other Improvements
- User Interface Improvements – there have been enhancements to the navigation and general usability of the Clickthroo interface.
- Editor Improvements – the landing page editor is now also much more user-friendly with several tweaks to make it more robust.
- Bug Fixes – we have been fixing and fixing and fixing some more.
